ABOUT

Naturopathy Day is observed annually in India on 18 November to promote positive physical and mental health through naturopathy, a drugless system of medicine. The significance of this date traces back to 18 November 1945, when Mahatma Gandhi became the Lifetime Chairman of the All India Nature Cure Foundation Trust and signed the Trust deed with the objective of making the benefits of Nature Cure accessible to all sections of society. Mahatma Gandhi is regarded as the founding figure of Naturopathy in India, as it was largely through his efforts that this practice, which originated in Europe, gained widespread recognition and popularity in the country.
... In recognition of this historical and public health significance, the observance of Naturopathy Day was officially declared by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, on 18 November 2018, to enhance awareness about the preventive, promotive, and holistic potential of naturopathy. Naturopathy day is celebrated nationwide through awareness camps, workshops, seminars, and conferences. Numerous Naturopathy hospitals, organizations, and medical colleges organize week-long programs and medical camps, providing education and services to the general public and promoting the principles of holistic health and wellness.
